Groundskeeper

ACLMTE is a full service entertainment staffing agency working with clients all over the country. We are currently seeking an experienced Groundskeeper for a full-time, in-person role based in Franklin, TN in the greater Nashville area. This position will support a UHNW family across an expansive private property and is responsible for the health, care, and readiness of the landscape and outdoor grounds — preserving the established design while allowing the property to thrive through every season. Regular Tasks for This Role (includes but is not limited to):
Caring for all plantings, lawns, trees, gardens, and landscape elements according to their individual needs and seasonal rhythms
Anticipating and addressing problems before they compromise the health or beauty of the property
Following the approved landscape design and aesthetic direction of the property — bringing any proposed changes to the Principal for approval
Preparing the grounds for each season and ensuring outdoor spaces remain clean, orderly, safe, and ready for family life, play, relaxation, and entertaining throughout the year
Maintaining lawns, ornamental plantings, shrubs, and trees across the full property including mowing of extensive acreage
Potential future responsibility for haymaking as the property develops
Pruning, fertilizing, and providing plant nutrition according to established schedules and individual plant needs
Managing pest, disease, and weed issues proactively and effectively
Planning and planting seasonal herbs, vegetables, and other edible plantings based on the family's preferences, anticipated menus, and what will be most useful and enjoyable
Developing planting plans in advance of each growing season with attention to variety, quantity, timing, and succession planting so the garden produces throughout the season
Coordinating closely with the Chef to ensure harvests are incorporated thoughtfully into menus and enjoyed at their best
Overseeing and maintaining all irrigation and watering systems across the property
Keeping all outdoor spaces clean, orderly, and beautifully presented at all times
Ensuring the property is clear of downed trees, limbs, and general debris
Maintaining all landscape equipment and supplies in good working order
Monitoring and managing grounds-related inventory
Coordinating with landscape vendors and specialists as needed, in close collaboration with the Estate Manager
Working closely with the Estate Manager on maintenance, vendors, property needs, and broader outdoor operations
Noticing and reporting any property concerns that fall outside the scope of groundskeeping
Skills / Experience / Education
Prior experience in professional groundskeeping, grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, or farm groundskeeping is required
Experience caring for large private estates, farms, or comparable properties is strongly preferred
Strong horticultural knowledge including lawns, trees, shrubs, ornamental plantings, and kitchen gardens
Experience planning and maintaining kitchen gardens and edible plantings is a strong plus
Knowledge of irrigation systems and seasonal maintenance required
Experience with pest, disease, and weed management required
Experience operating large mowing equipment, tractors, and grounds maintenance machinery required
Comfortable working in all seasons and weather conditions
Comfortable working alongside and coordinating with other household staff members
Comfortable around animals — experience with horses is a bonus
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, especially in rural or outdoor settings
Genuinely enjoys being of service and takes pride in the beauty and health of the landscape
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
Must be willing to complete a background check
Willingness to relocate to the Franklin, TN area if not already located nearby
Schedule
Full-time, in-person position
Primarily Monday–Friday
Schedule may adjust based on seasonal and property needs
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 depending on experience
Medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment
PTO provided
